Rock the Cradle of Love

Hello. This is my first visit to Food Party as a contributor and I’ve decided to start with something very special. I am creating a series of desserts inspired by Billy Idol songs. Today’s installment is Rock the Cradle of Love, a wicked strawberry cream dessert that will leave you drunk with teenage love.

What you will need:

1 Half Pint Heavy Whipping Cream

1 Whole Bag of Frozen Strawberries

¼ Cup of Vanilla Yogurt

¼ of Confectioners Sugar

A dash of Nutmeg

½ teaspoon of imitation rum flavor

An exciting bespattering of tawny port (oops)

Some Barbie legs

  1. Put all of the ingredients (except for the port and the Barbie legs) in your favorite blender and watch them spin around together and become one creamy pink unit.
  2. Put the substance in a nice Pyrex dish. Or maybe you went to art school and you have many ceramic or glass pieces that your friends gave you. Those will work as well. Just remember that red is the best color for this dish. Refrigerate or freeze it for a few hours, depending on if you want a soft dip/pudding or an ice cream sort of thing.
  3. Now it’s time to decorate. Put the Barbie legs in the dessert. Try to make it look as if they are having a really good time. The 80’s was such a leg-lovin’ decade (even though this song is from 1990, for those who get stuck on technicalities). 80’s is to legs as 90’s is to boobs. Anyway, you can also put some extra berries or Oreos or whatever you want on top. Splatter it with port to reference the video (posted below) and make it look great.
